Potato Latkes!

Yesterday we went out to the garden and dug up potatoes!So this morning we started our day with a journal about it!

We were so lucky that Katherine, Arne's mother,  could volunteer!We learned to use some sharp tools carefully! We learned to peel potatoes away from us!We also learned how to grate potatoes with out grating our skin!

 The yummy Latkes arrived! Every body had a chance to try some with maple syrup!

Harvesting Potatoes!

 Last years class planted potatoes!  I let them grow all summer and Fall!  We went out to harvest the potatoes today!  Super fun!  Two volunteers helped scrub them up! 

 Tomorrow we will make potato Latkes.
